The Vision Behind the Label
Reviving the poetry of royal needlework.
Founded in Karachi by designer Mehmooda Aftab, the atelier was born out of a quiet rebellion against fast-moving, disposable fashion. In an era where commercial machines replace human touch, Mehmooda sought out Pakistan’s most gifted generational karigars — masters who inherit centuries-old embroidery knowledge.
Every bridal lehenga, formal peshwas, and luxury kaftan that departs our Bukhari studio begins with an intimate dialogue: touching swatches of pure raw silk, curating customized color palettes, and drafting bespoke motifs inspired by Mughal floral geometry and subcontinental poetry.
Our patrons do not just wear a dress; they wear hundreds of hours of focused human devotion, metallic dabka wire, hand-set micro pearls, and the spirit of Karachi couture.
